Primary Program for Students 3.5 – 6: School Readiness You Can Count On
Primary Program: 3.5 to 6 Year olds*
Part time and Full time Options Available
Our Primary Program offers a fun, hands on, structured, small group, interactive learning environment. Our focus is on developing strong foundational skills that are important for later academic success, social-emotional development, and overall growth. Our curriculum includes a mix of structured activities, play-based learning, and hands-on experiences. We spend a lot of time out in the community, taking many opportunities to apply what we learn and observe different careers, how the postal system works, learn library skills, learn about nature, recycling and so much more. Each month is filled with educational activities that challenge and encourage exploration. The teachers work hard to promote a sense of community and teamwork. The students celebrate families, cultures and geography through our amazing cultural study and correspondence program. Field trips are a regular part of our program as are daily outdoor activities. We go outside in RAIN, SNOW, SUN or otherwise. Hiking, biking, snow shoeing and sledding are regular activities so it is important to dress for whatever the day might offer.
All of our classrooms teach Spanish, Sign language, Yoga, Cultural Studies, Zoo-phonics, Music, Art and more. Each teacher puts together a lesson plan for their classroom along with a calendar and newsletter summarizing what your child will be doing every day. We also offer opportunities for families to get involved as much or as little as you choose. We understand that some jobs are much less flexible than others and will assist those that want to be involved but can’t by finding fun opportunities and lots of information so that you are always an integral part of our program.
Parent/teacher conferences are held multiple times per year along with daily opportunities to converse and get to know our staff. The Primary program also does regular evaluations, developmental milestone and school readiness assessments. We work closely with specialists in the area and early intervention when needed. We strive to make Creekside Kids a warm, inviting family environment that fosters open and honest communication. We believe it takes a village and are honored to be a part of your family.
Our students and staff are actively engaged and interacting all day long. We don’t use TV, movies or video games but instead offer hands on interaction and lessons that will last a lifetime.
We encourage you to come and visit, we’d love to show you our school.
